Hello…okay, in this field we are going to touch about the ORIGIN of Maziah palace that everybody knows that this palace is located nearby Bukit Puteri of palace, approximately 220 meters from the river water of Kuala Terengganu. Mostly inside this palace, usually it was held formal ceremony countries in this country. But actually we are not focussing into that kind of history. Well, normally it is going to be fun and exciting if we insert any element of mystic and supernatural in the story as well.
Thus, we found that there have mystic stories about the origin of Maziah palace after this palace was moved to Kuala Terengganu. Actually, the actual and origin of Maziah palace was located at Kampung Raja, Besut Terengganu. Then, after that, it was moved to Kuala Terengganu. Why this village was called as Kampung Raja? It is because this village at that time was the first village that a king came to live in that village and that king lived at temporary palace. Then, that king and together with palace moved to Kuala Terengganu and lived at new palace there.  That’s why this village was called as Kampung Raja until now.

......................................BEGIN TO MYSTIC STORY...........................................
.
.
There were many mysterious and mystic occurrences happened after the palace was being left just like that. According to the villagers of Kampung Raja, there was a “waiter” stay at that old palace.  It was like had someone else who stayed inside the old palace but in fact it was nobody inside the palace. In addition, most of them (villagers) always see a yellow cloth flew over surrounding of that old palace during evening. It so mystery right?  Below pictures shown the old palace that was being left a long time ago and trusted by the villagers there is waiter in the old palace.

Old palace that was being left a long time ago and trusted by the villagers there is waiter in the old palace.

However, there are some areas of the palace has now been turned into a center of wood carving in the wood carving that is where the activities underway at the center.

Center of wood carving was originally as areas of Maziah palace courtyard once upon a time.

Another occurrence happened that was surprised and swizzle towards villagers of Kampung Raja. There a big tree near the old palace but then the tree cannot be cut down by the villagers and also by the JKR (Jabatan Kerja Raya). It is like there has something that prevents the tree from the felled by them. Though being cut down, but the tree did not fall and remain intact as it is now. So weird right? As now, the villagers of Kampung Raja still not dare and afraid to wander around at that haunted area.

A tree that cannot be cut down and it is like there has “something” that prevents the tree from the felled by villagers of Kampung Raja.

So, all of these revealing a thousand of mystery isn’t?

Santubong Princess

Do you know Mount Santubong and Mount Sejinjang in Sarawak? If you had cross these names, good because you have good knowledge in your mind. Well, these mounts  have their own stories too. In the past, locals said that two beautiful mythical sisters, Princess Santubong and Princess Sejinjang; from a kingdom called Kayangan.  The princesses were sent to the earth to help villagers in Pasir Kuning and Pasir Putih. Santubong was an expert weaver while Sejinjang was an excellent rice thresher. With those helps, the villages soon became prosperous.

Soon, they met Putera Mahkota Serapi of Matang. The prince fell in love both of them but they refused to be joint-wives (bermadu), then they had quarrel and exchanged blows. Sejinjang swung her thresher, hit Santubong's cheek. As she fell on her back, Princess Santubong threw her weaver to the Sejinjang; hitting directly at the head. The great Kayangan King cursed both sisters into mountains. Legends said that Mount Santubong resembles a woman lying on her back. The deep crevice at the peak is where the Princess Santubong received the blow to the cheek from her sister's thresher.

Basically, we never know this legend because it happened ancient times ago but as usual, we can listen to it but depends on our own thinking to believe it or not.

Ulek Mayang?

Ulek Mayang..another ancient story in Terengganu that had their own meaning. This song had its origin about a sea princess who fell in love with a fisherman. The princess conquered his soul and left his body unconscious. Later, his friends met with a bomoh (shaman) to heal him. When the bomoh succeed to call the fisherman's soul back, the princess was appeared and call out her five sisters to help her. They are battling with the bomoh and finally; the eldest sister came out and put an end to it. The eldest said she know the origins of the friends. She add "Let those from the sea return to the sea, and those from the land to return to the land." The grateful bomoh and friends gave coloured rice as their present.

This ulek mayang comes out with gracefully dance and the lyrics also described the seven sisters too.

[lyrics]
Ulek mayang ku ulek
Ulek dengan jala jemala
Ulek mayang diulek
Ulek dengan tuannya puteri
Ulek mayang diulek
Ulek dengan jala jemala
Ulek mayang diulek
Ulek dengan puterinya dua

Puteri dua berbaju serong
Puteri dua bersanggol sendeng
Puteri dua bersubang gading
Puteri dua berselendang kuning
Umbok mayang diumbok
Umbok dengan jala jemala
Nok ulek mayang diulek
Ulek dengan puterinya empat

Puteri empat berbaju serong
Puteri empat bersanggol sendeng
Puteri empat bersubang gading
Puteri empat berselendang kuning
Umbok mayang diumbok
Umbok dengan jala jemala
Nok ulek mayang diulek
Ulek dengan puterinya enam

Puteri enam berbaju serong
Puteri enam bersanggol sendeng
Puteri enam bersubang gading
Puteri enam berselendang kuning
Umbok mayang diumbok
Umbok dengan jala jemala
Nok ulek mayang diulek
Ulek dengan puterinya tujuh

Puteri tujuh berbaju serong
Puteri tujuh bersanggol sendeng
Puteri tujuh bersubang gading
Puteri tujuh berselendang kuning
Umbok mayang diumbok
Umbok dengan jala jemala
Nok ulek mayang diulek
Ulek dengan tuannya puteri

Tuan puteri berbaju serong
Tuan puteri bersanggol sendeng
Tuan puteri bersubang gading
Tuan puteri berselendang kuning
Umbok mayang diumbok
Umbok dengan jala jemala
Nok ulek mayang diulek
Ulek dengan tuannya puteri

Ku tahu asal usul mu
Yang laut balik ke laut
Yang darat balik ke darat
Nasi berwarna hamba sembahkan
Umbok mayang ku umbok
Umbok dengan jala jemala
Pulih mayang ku pulih
Pulih balik sedia kala

"Life mystery of Genie"

Okay, for this arena, we are going to get in depth into the topic that we guarantee most u guys love it so much. The topic is about LIFE MYSTERY OF GENIE. Interested isn’t? This stories are famous in Kelantan and Terengganu. Many of us never thought that life is not only inhabited by human beings, but also inhabited by supernatural beings called genie being termed by humans as fine. Realize or not actually world of the genie and human nature actually lies very close and said in overlapping, but different dimensions. Genie life similar to humans. Their lives just as humans have intellect, passion, knowledge, androgynous, pedigree, food, efforts and there is worship of Allah (Muslim jinn). The only difference with humans is that they are invisible and running very quickly. Seems it is so scary to be heard right? But it is so true. However it depends whether we want to trust it or not.
A genie type is divided by two, which are the good genie (Jin Islam) and bad or evil genie (Jin Kafir).  Speaking about genie, and of course it is close related to their nature itself that is called as “Alam Ghaib”. Genie or these kinds of creatures being able to appear or come into existence when or wherever they like whether in front of humans or not. The bad genie or evil spirit will appear themselves in the form of insects and animals such as grasshoppers, snakes, tigers, elephants, cows, cats and so on. Societies in Kelantan described that termed the genie in this group as "land genie". Sometimes they like to wear black and white interchangeably, appears in the category of the good men and pious. Genie in this group considered most evil genie.
Genie creatures living actually are almost same with human’s life. Genie creatures never sleeps, not as people who need sleep as a time to rest. Genie creatures did not have time to sleep. What's more in terms of food was very much different from humans. If we look at the food eaten by the creature seems like rice, but the fact that food is ants’ eggs.
To be as a proven, together we displayed and showed the area of place that we founded that actually these areas are inhabited by genies besides humans.

Bukit Keluang (Besut, Terengganu)  Is the village of Muslim genie and largest non-Muslim genie.

Sungai Cakah Dua di Gunung Tebu (Besut, Terengganu) is the largest village of elves in Malaysia.

Gua Seto (Dabong, Kuala Krai) a village primary elves.

Kolam Tujuh at Gunung Stong, Dabong, Kuala Krai populated by female elves.

Pulau Tengkorak,Tumpat is the placement of Muslim and non-Muslim genies the humans most afraid.

Okay, that’s all from now. Thanks for reading.

'Turtle Stone'

One of the legend comes from Terengganu again; is the Turtle Stone or batu penyu. Old folks said this stone exist because of a male turtle had sipped water from curse lake or pond in the Rantau Abang, Dungun.

A couple of turtle had lost from Banjaran Sari and met with several sea living creature and the living's already warned them to not going to the forbidden area. This forbid area is a place which is beautiful location with pure sand soil but limits to the fishes. So the couple curious and went to the mystic area. But the female do not want to go there and left behind. There, the male saw beautiful clear crystal water and had sipped from the water. Unfortunately, he felt heavier than usual and cannot move at all. Then he turned into a stone.

The sad news brought by a seagull to the female and with heartbroken heart; she went off and promised herself to come to Rantau Abang to lays egg. This is because she wants to visits her loved and recall the tragedy.

Since that, many turtles comes to this beach to lays eggs and also they would cry to remember their unfortunate ancestors.

This memorial is located at Bukit Che Hawa, Rantau Abang.

Bukit Puteri~~

We already heard many stories from our parents, families and so on. Personally, for me the most weird story in Terengganu that I had heard from my parent is the Bukit Puteri or Princess Hill. It was renamed like that because there was an 'elfin princess' or Puteri Bunian who lived there, she had a lot of gold and silver plates and pots in order to hold kenduri or marriage feasts, normally the villagers like to borrow them. Unfortunately, many never returned her precious pots and some even broke them. Disgusted with their carelessness and greed, the elfin princess left for Bukit Bintang, Besut.

In addition, this hill also has Meriam Beranak or 'Cannon who gave birth'. It is because there is a baby cannon besides a large cannon so the villagers called them as mother and child. Based on the legends, all the cannons on the hill is presented to Raja Siam by Japanese except the Meriam Beranak. The people confused and weird because how come the baby cannon exist beside the large one? So they gave the name as Meriam Beranak.

Furthermore, there are people said that Princess Hill is named after the seven benevolent elfin princesses; the haunted Ulek Mayang melody. Till today, locals maintain upon reaching the top, visitors can inhale the lingering sweat-scent of the seven princesses.

From old folks story, the Genta or Big Bell also has its own story. They said that to produce best melody or sound, the maker need to put special ingredients or 'mystical recipes' in the process. At last, the maker completed the bell with a very melancholic melody. Sometimes, it heard as someone crying in very painful sound.

I never know whether it is true or not because these stories happened ancient times ago. It is up to nowadays people to believe it or not and also, it is myths in my hometown.
